New York Harbor Tour
Enjoy a close up and personal tour of the most picturesque harbor in America including the Statue of Liberty, Freedom Tower, Ellis Island, United Nations, Brooklyn and several of Manhattan’s bridges. We will round Governors Island as part of the tour.
This is a two hour adventure. Enjoying yourself? Feel free to add an extra hour to your voyage.
New York Sunset Tour
Cruise the Hudson River up to the George Washington Bridge and then down to the harbor for a sundown spectacular with fantastic close-up views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, lower Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge and Governors Island. A three hour adventure.
Liberty Landing Marina has multiple dining options to explore upon your return, or you can use our caterer to dine on board.
Manhattan Bridges Excursion
On this private cruise you can see all of Manhattan’s bridges and customize your trip the day of departure. This is a half-day four hour adventure. Explore Raritan Bay, or cruise extensively up the Hudson River (perfect for fall leaf viewing) or head up the East River to Hell’s Gate and the entrance to the Long Island Sound. Bring a picnic basket or use our caterer and enjoy a most wonderous afternoon seeing all the waterfront sites of New York City.
Unique Day Trip Adventure
Take advantage Captain Greg’s local knowledge and all of Independence’s full amenities. Oyster Bay, Port Washington and Sandy Hook are possible day trips. Anchor up for lunch and an afternoon of swimming, paddle boarding, dingy rides and fun. Enjoy a hot shower when done before we cruise back to New York harbor. Don’t forget to book an evening dinner at one of Liberty Park’s restaurants for when you return.
How does it all work?
We meet at the dock at Liberty Landing Marina or at an optional NYC location a few minutes before departure. Aboard the Independence we safely store any food and beverages you bring for the trip. Food can also be ordered by our catering service partner. Water and soda are provided. In the salon we have brief introductions and set expectations for the adventure. Coast guard regulations require six or less passengers and children under 12 to wear the provided life preservers. As the captain gets Independence ready for departure you watch a short safety video. Then off we go. The First Mate is there to help you with your needs, allowing Captain Greg to focus on safely navigating your adventure. You are free to explore the boat, relax, take lots of pictures and most importantly have fun.
Dress appropriately for the weather. Please no high heeled shoes on board as they damage the teak flooring. Don’t forget your sunglasses and camera. See our FAQ for further information.
F.A.Q.
Safety is of utmost consideration. If the captain believes there is any compromise of safety due to weather or mechanical issues the trip can be rescheduled at a later date. The yacht provides covered outdoor and indoor decks and we will run with light rain. If we cancel due to stormy weather we will reschedule. We want you to fully enjoy the experience.
7 day cancellation with full refund allowed. 48 hour cancellation required with option to reschedule. No refunds for trips cancelled less than 48 ours prior to trip.
Independence is a sturdy, comfortable and incredibly safe yacht. You will not get splashed by the sea and you are not required to know how to swim. According to U.S. Coast Guard rules passengers under the age of 12 must wear life preservers. We have a good selection for use when on board, for infants as well. All minors must have a parent or guardian present. All passengers are required to sign a release form before departure. Guardians are required to sign a release form for all passengers under the age of 12.
The length of time of each trip my vary slightly. Plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to your voyage and allow for 15 minute delays for embarkation.
Please check in advance. Small pets that are carriable are allowed.
Independence is not wheelchair accessible. The ability to step up and down stairs is required.
The private well appointed head (bathroom) is located on the first level.
You control what you listen too on Independence’s fantastic sound system. Play your favorite Spotify channel, connect your phone via bluetooth or play some of the captain’s favorite mixes. Keep it mellow or have a dance party, you are in control of your entertainment.
You are encouraged to bring your own food and drinks as everything tastes better on a yacht! In the galley and on the flybridge you have access to refrigerators, freezers, ice makers and the all-important blender. Complimentary water and soda provided. Cutlery, dishes, cups and napkins are available as requested. You must be 21 or older to drink alcohol.
There are also caterer services available for varied Lunch-aboard and Dine-aboard options.
